From the smash blockbuster Star Wars: The Force Awakens, here's a drawing of the newest dark side villain, Kylo Ren. For this piece I applied a minimal take by drawing on pitch black strathmore paper, utilizing just one white charcoal pencil and one red pastel color pencil. The pressure applied created difference in appearing as a light stroke or really heavy to give off highlights (as seen on the chrome of the helmet and the middle of the lightsaber). This style of drawing tricks the eye to make out the imagery with the already provided black background.
